Federal Support for Homelessness Announced

The Biden Administration announced a new program—The All INside Initiative—which will roll out in six places, comprised of the State of California and five major U.S. cities, including the City of Los Angeles. The program seeks to facilitate the move of unsheltered residents into permanent housing by providing jurisdictions with two years of support, including locating a dedicated federal official in each area and creating teams to help obtain federal funding, create networks, identify opportunities for improved regulation and streamlining, and increase housing access. Additionally, support will include assistance in convening philanthropy, the private sector, and other communities to help design effective responses. It is unclear how much funding might be provided to these jurisdictions beyond funding already announced. Read more about the initiative here.
