Housing Finance Working Group

As part of its work on the County of San Diego Housing Blueprint, LDC led a housing finance working group tasked with identifying approaches to increase the affordability and production of for-sale housing for populations earning up to 120% of area median income in unincorporated areas of the county. The team engaged 31 developers, housing advocates, and finance experts to assess current conditions, discuss potential solutions, and solidify a list of recommendations.

As a result of the Housing Finance Working Group’s process, LDC and its partners produced recommendations for San Diego County. These included establishing a revolving loan fund, deferring development impact fees, and streamlining entitlement processes, which aimed to increase the production and affordability of middle-income housing and facilitate greater homeownership opportunities.
